Job Description
**Job title** Senior Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care **Role Summary** Lead and deliver person‑centred occupational therapy (OT) services at first point of contact for adults, providing senior clinical oversight, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to service improvement within a multidisciplinary social care environment. **Expectations** - Deliver timely, evidence‑based OT interventions with a strengths‑based approach. - Supervise, coach and support OT staff, students and unqualified colleagues. - Maintain professional competence through regular CPD and reflective supervision. - Participate in service development, performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** - Conduct early assessment and problem‑solving for adults, developing independence plans. - Provide senior clinical oversight for complex cases, guiding decision‑making across the multidisciplinary team. - Deliver professional supervision, coaching and guidance to OT staff and students. - Contribute to service design, quality assurance and performance improvement. - Offer cross‑team support within Adult Social Care to ensure continuity and high‑quality practice. - Engage in CPD activities and apply specialist skills to improve outcomes. **Required Skills** - Advanced clinical OT expertise with a portfolio of complex case management. - Strong leadership and mentorship ability. - Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in risk assessment, safety planning and multidisciplinary coordination. - Commitment to reflective practice, continuous learning and quality improvement. **Required Education & Certifications** - Graduate degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy. - Current HCPC registration. - Minimum experience as a senior OT (typically 5+ years of post‑qualification practice). - Ongoing CPD evidence and specialist skill development expected. ---
