Senior Software Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑performance, scalable backend services and user interfaces for a real‑time digital advertising platform. Drive architectural decisions, coding standards, and cross‑functional collaboration to enable rapid feature deployment and maintain code quality at scale.
**Expectations**
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience, including ≥3 years of UI and backend work.
- Demonstrated ability to design and build APIs and UI components in a distributed, production environment.
- Proven leadership in Agile practices, sprint facilitation, and engineering best‑practice implementation.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with product, UX, QA, and customer support teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Node.js or Python on Linux/UNIX platforms.
2. Implement RESTful APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
3. Build responsive, modular front‑end components with Angular (5+) and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
4. Write and enforce unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests for both UI and backend codebases.
5. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and enforce coding standards.
6. Manage sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, demos, and retrospectives; prioritize work and estimate effort.
7. Coordinate releases, CI/CD pipelines, and large‑scale deployments; monitor application health.
8. Leverage AI‑enabled tooling (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) for coding, debugging, and documentation.
9. Resolve engineering escalations and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet customer needs.
**Required Skills**
- Backend: Node.js/Python, REST API design, SQL (relational DBs), data modeling, performance tuning.
- Front‑end: Angular 5+, React/AngularJS, advanced JavaScript, build tools, unit testing.
- Architecture: scalable service design, Linux/UNIX environments, secure coding practices.
- Testing: unit testing frameworks, automated testing, test coverage enforcement.
- Agile/Scrum: sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, backlog grooming.
- Collaboration: experience working with Product, UX, QA, and customer support.
- Tooling: Git, CI/CD, CI pipelines, issue tracking, AI‑assist tools.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- No mandatory certifications, though familiarity with industry best practices (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, DO-178C) is a plus.
