Full stack Engineer AI

Job Description

Job title: Full Stack Engineer – AI Role Summary Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end AI and web solutions that drive the creation of agentic large language model (LLM) tools. Collaborate with research and science teams across the UK and US to accelerate studies on manufacturing impacts and climate. Expectations - Deliver high‑quality, scalable AI and web solutions that integrate seamlessly with research workflows. - Engage cross‑functional teams, translating research objectives into technical requirements. - Support both the rapid prototyping and production deployment of LLM tools. Key Responsibilities 1. Architect and implement full‑stack applications incorporating AI models, APIs, and user interfaces. 2. Develop and optimize machine‑learning pipelines for training, fine‑tuning, and inference of large language models. 3. Ensure robust data handling, model governance, and compliance with best practices for privacy and security. 4. Integrate chat, recommendation, or automation modules into research platforms. 5. Perform code reviews, unit testing, and performance profiling for both backend and frontend components. 6. Collaborate with data scientists and domain experts to define model requirements and evaluation metrics. 7. Maintain documentation for system architecture, API endpoints, and deployment processes. Required Skills - Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript (Node.js, TypeScript). - Experience with web frameworks (React, Next.js, Django/Flask or similar). - Practical knowledge of machine‑learning libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face). - Familiarity with large‑language‑model deployment (Hugging Face Hub, LangChain, LlamaIndex). - Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). - Solid understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs and asynchronous programming. - Ability to work in an agile environment, manage sprints, and collaborate with remote teams. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. - Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, GCP Professional Data Engineer, or similar.
