**Job Title**
Direct Tax Lead – EMEA
**Role Summary**
Senior tax professional responsible for all direct tax compliance, reporting, risk management, and strategy across the EMEA region. Leads a team of three, manages quarterly tax reporting, consolidates financial data, and ensures alignment with global policies in a matrixed, fast‑paced environment.
**Expectations**
- Deliver accurate, timely direct tax compliance and consolidated reporting for EMEA.
- Provide strategic tax insight and risk mitigation to support business decisions.
- Champion best‑practice tax governance, process improvement, and technology adoption.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities, auditors, advisors, and internal finance teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Implement global tax standards and develop local tax strategies that align with business goals.
- Lead cross‑border tax input for mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, product launches, and divestitures.
- Manage all EMEA direct tax compliance, statutory and consolidated reporting, CbCr, and Pillar 2 requirements.
- Oversee engagement with external providers, review contracts, and prepare tax accounting papers and audit memos.
- Identify and manage tax risks (PE, CFCs, JSOX), enhance controls, and set governance frameworks.
- Drive process, data, and technology improvements using analytics, AI, and tax automation tools.
- Mentor and develop a high‑performing tax team and manage the EMEA tax budget.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced technical expertise in direct tax and international tax law (EEA, withholding, treaties).
- Experience managing tax compliance, reporting, audit, and controversy in a multinational setting.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with proficiency in tax data analytics.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex tax matters to business and finance stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
- Familiarity with tax technology, data analytics, and AI solutions for tax functions.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or related discipline.
- Professional tax certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent with advanced tax specialization.
- Additional certifications in tax technology or risk management (e.g., CFE, CMA) are an advantage.
