**Job title:** Student Intern – Financial Lines Underwriting **Role summary:** A 10‑week summer internship focused on financial lines underwriting. Interns work side‑by‑side with underwriting, risk consulting, and operational support teams to apply risk analysis, underwriting principles, and loss‑control advice in real‑world settings. The role includes learning through shadowing, meetings, project work, and cross‑business exposure within the risk consulting framework. **Expectations:** - Actively engage in underwriting activities and risk‑selection processes. - Complete assigned special projects or proof‑of‑concept studies within the internship period. - Participate in learning events, internal meetings, and knowledge‑sharing sessions. - Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and time‑management skills. - Apply academic concepts to practical tasks and deliver clear, concise documentation. **Key responsibilities:** 1. Assist in identifying and analyzing risk exposure for potential and existing accounts. 2. Support underwriting of risk selection and retention decisions. 3. Compile findings, prepare reports, and maintain accurate data records. **Required skills:** - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. - Basic mathematical skills for risk assessment and data analysis. - Strong oral and written communication. - Self‑starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. - Understanding of artificial intelligence and its potential business applications. **Required education & certifications:** - Current university student pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline. - Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
