Cyber & Forensic Technology Consulting Analyst/Associate Intern (Summer 2026)
**Role Summary**
Provide consulting support on cyber due diligence, incident response, digital forensics, and e‑discovery projects. Collaborate with senior analysts on live client engagements, delivering technical investigations, evidence handling, and analytical reporting over an 8‑10 week internship.
**Expectations**
- Graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s (non‑MBA) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, MIS or related field (December 2026 / Summer 2027).
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and network fundamentals.
- Show practical proficiency with forensic and investigative tools, scripting, and data analysis.
- Produce clear written reports and communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Maintain professional‑grade evidence handling and chain‑of‑custody procedures.
- Engage in continuous learning of emerging forensic techniques and incident‑response practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in security and privacy investigations for data‑breach and fraud cases.
- Perform forensic analysis on computers, networks, mobile devices, and removable media using commercial and open‑source tools.
- Conduct static/dynamic malware analysis and threat‑hunting activities in controlled lab or live environments.
- Manage evidence collection, preservation, and custody documentation.
- Develop and execute automation scripts (Python, T‑SQL, VBA, C#, etc.) to accelerate analysis workflows.
- Draft detailed technical and investigative reports, summarizing procedures, evidence, and findings.
- Participate in client deliverables (write‑ups, presentations, and written summaries).
- Stay updated on developments in digital forensics, e‑discovery, and incident‑response methodologies.
**Required Skills**
- Strong technical understanding of OS, software, and hardware architecture.
- Hands‑on experience with forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, Volatility).
- Knowledge of file‑system forensics, memory, and network analysis.
- Familiarity with malware analysis, threat‑hunting, and incident‑response processes.
- Evidence handling, chain‑of‑custody, and proper documentation practices.
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, T‑SQL, VBA, C#, Excel).
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical findings in clear written and verbal form.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (non‑MBA) in a related discipline, graduating December 2026 / Summer 2027.
- Preferred certifications: GIAC (GCIA, GCFA, GCFE, GNFA, GCCC, GREM), IACIS CFCE/CIFR, Guidance EnCE.
- Alternative: relevant coursework or practical experience in digital forensics/incident response.
