Job Description
**Job title** Head of Engineering **Role Summary** Lead the engineering organization to design, build, and scale high‑performance, low‑latency trading systems for a regulated financial market infrastructure. Drive technical strategy, team growth, and operational excellence while ensuring security, reliability, and regulatory compliance. **Expectations** - Deliver end‑to‑end engineering solutions for trading and client connectivity. - Scale a multidisciplinary team (software, infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity). - Balance hands‑on technical leadership with senior management responsibilities. - Communicate effectively with executive leadership, partners, and regulators. **Key Responsibilities** - Mentor and grow engineering teams, defining roles and career paths. - Design and implement low‑latency trading architecture that meets strict performance and reliability targets. - Oversee development of client connectivity layers and validate system throughput and latency. - Build and enforce risk controls, operational safeguards, and security measures. - Collaborate with the CTO on technical roadmap, strategy, and prioritization. - Ensure all systems comply with applicable regulations and standards. - Represent engineering in executive, partner, and regulatory discussions. **Required Skills** - 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, preferably in trading, exchanges, or high‑performance systems. - Deep knowledge of trading system architectures, low‑latency networking, and performance optimization. - Proven ability to architect and scale systems handling high volumes with ultra‑low latency. - Experience in regulated markets or compliance‑driven engineering environments. - Strong strategic and technical leadership, with hands‑on engineering capability. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive and regulatory stakeholder engagement. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. - Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory.
