Job Description
Job Title: Credit Control Analyst Role Summary: Drive accurate management of accounts receivable, payment allocation, ledger reconciliation and credit control for a global energy trading organization. Ensure timely cash flow, minimise unallocated balances, and support collections and write‑off processes while maintaining high service levels to customers and internal stakeholders. Expectations: - Maintain high accuracy in daily activity and periodic reconciliations. - Keep unallocated cash below line‑manager defined thresholds. - Resolve payment, allocation and credit queries within agreed SLAs. - Provide system or process training to team members as needed. - Collaborate cross‑functionally to improve collections and reduce bad‑debt exposure. Key Responsibilities: - Allocate and import incoming customer payments, validating and reconciling with the sales ledger. - Conduct daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of the sales ledger against bank statements. - Manage and minimize unallocated cash balances, reporting progress to line manager. - Handle customer and operational queries via ticket system, ensuring resolution within SLAs. - Investigate and resolve failed direct debits, indemnity claims, chargebacks and other bank claims. - Generate write‑off case files and submit proof of debt claims as required. - Operate a credit control ledger, executing outbound/inbound collection activities (phone/email) during designated hours. - Build rapport with customers to reduce bad‑debt exposure and meet collections targets. - Train and support colleagues to cover contingency requirements.
