Job Description
**Job Title:** Neuroscientist **Role Summary:** Lead in‑vivo electrophysiology and neural implant integration to generate and analyze high‑fidelity brain activity data for developing brain‑inspired technologies. **Expectations:** - Design and conduct electrophysiological experiments with chronic/acute multi‑channel implants. - Develop protocols for recording, stimulation, and behavioral coupling. - Collaborate with engineers to optimize probe design, surgical workflow, and system integration. - Process and interpret large datasets utilizing Python, MATLAB, or equivalent. - Partner with AI, embedded systems, and computational teams to align biological data with technology roadmaps. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct in‑vivo recordings in animal models, manage surgical procedures, and validate implant performance. - Curate, analyze, and archive neural data (spike sorting, LFP, time–frequency analysis). - Integrate sensors, amplifiers, and stimulation modules into experimental rigs and acquisition pipelines. - Translate experimental findings into models for computational neuroscientists. - Participate in interdisciplinary strategy meetings and support automation of experimental workflows. **Required Skills:** - Extensive hands‑on experience with in‑vivo electrophysiology in animal models. - Proficiency in neural acquisition systems (Intan, Open Ephys, Neuropixels, Plexon). - Strong signal‑processing, spike‑sorting, and time‑series analysis capabilities. - Advanced programming in Python, MATLAB, or equivalent. - Knowledge of stereotaxic surgery, chronic implantation, and neural stimulation. - Solid foundation in neuroanatomy, experimental design, and reproducibility practices. - Collaborative mindset with ability to bridge neuroscience and engineering. **Required Education & Certifications:** - PhD or equivalent advanced degree in Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. - Minimum 1–2 years of hands‑on electrophysiological recording experience in animal models. **Preferred Experience (not mandatory):** - Development or adaptation of neural recording hardware. - Exposure to optogenetics, calcium imaging, or multimodal neurotechnology. - Publications or open‑source contributions in systems neuroscience.
