Job title: User Experience Design Intern
Role Summary: The intern works alongside UX Product Designers to develop, refine, and maintain a cohesive digital product design system. Responsibilities include creating UI components, drafting guidelines, testing usability, and ensuring design-to-code consistency while also contributing to high‑level design tasks such as wireframes, prototypes, and user research.
Expactations: Deliver high‑quality design assets, documentation, and usability insights that support the organization’s digital products. Collaborate cross‑functionally, communicate design decisions clearly, and adhere to design standards for accessibility, scalability, and visual consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and refine UI components, patterns, and guidelines within the design system (Figma).
- Audit and clean up design tokens (color, spacing, typography) to ensure consistency.
- Test component usability in real product contexts and propose improvements.
- Document usage guidelines, states, and best‑practice notes for the design system.
- Collaborate with engineers to improve design‑to‑code parity and flag Figma/<front‑end> discrepancies.
- Maintain library and project folder structure in Figma for logical accessibility.
- Produce low‑fi sketches, wireframes, site maps, and pixel‑perfect visual designs as needed.
- Create prototypes to support usability testing and design reviews.
- Present design ideas and specifications to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct stakeholder research, user tests, and trend analysis to refine product experiences.
- Manage project progress and deliverables on time.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Figma and other design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.).
- Strong understanding of interaction design, prototyping, and user‑centered design methods.
- Ability to create detailed, accessible, and consistent UI component libraries.
- Experience with design‑to‑code handoff, including Figma versus front‑end implementation.
- Knowledge of design tokens, styling systems, and documentation practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Keen eye for detail, strong proofreading, and multi‑page design thinking.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
- Fluent in English; willing to travel (2–3 times per week) for on‑site collaboration.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in User Experience Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Portfolio demonstrating comprehensive design decision processes for complex digital platforms.
