**Job Title:** Automation Engineer (Design) – Female/Male
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and maintain advanced industrial automation systems while setting new standards for performance and reliability. Work across diverse sectors (pharmaceutical, food & beverage, etc.) to drive technological innovation and optimize plant operations.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver high‑quality automation solutions that meet or exceed client specifications.
- Lead projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring adherence to technical, safety, and regulatory norms.
- Continuously improve processes and keep the automation portfolio on the cutting edge of industry trends.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Coordinate and manage complex automation projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams (design, production, supply chain).
- Design and program PLCs and related control hardware using Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, and Omron platforms.
- Define and formalize automation standards, including documentation, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost‑benefit analyses.
- Implement diagnostics, fault‑tolerance measures, and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Provide technical oversight during testing, commissioning, and validation stages.
- Train and mentor colleagues on automation concepts, programming, and maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and industry standards (CE, ISO, etc.) into existing systems.
- Represent the company in technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI configuration (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider Unity Pro, Omron CX‑Designer).
- Strong foundation in electrotechnics, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Project management: planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
- Analytical problem‑solving with a focus on root cause analysis and long‑term solutions.
- Technical documentation: ability to create specifications, schematics, and test reports.
- Knowledge of automation standards (IEC, ISO, CE), safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- English proficiency for technical communication, documentation, and collaboration.
- Soft skills: autonomy, rigor, analytical mindset, leadership, pedagogy, communication, adaptability, and proactive innovation.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Diploma (DUT, BTS) or degree (Licence, Master, Engineering School) in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electrotechnique, or related field.
- Certification in PLC programming or automation (e.g., Siemens Certified Programmer, Rockwell Certified Engineer) is highly desirable.
