**Job Title:** Cyber Security Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Designs, implements, and maintains security controls for enterprise networking and cloud environments to protect client assets and ensure compliance with security best practices.
**Expectations:**
- Apply OSI model and TCP/IP knowledge to secure networks.
- Administer Linux and Windows systems with a focus on security hardening.
- Use the CIA triad framework to guide security decisions.
- Leverage basic cloud security concepts in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and maintain automated scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for monitoring and remediation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans on client infrastructure.
- Design, configure, and deploy security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, IAM).
- Maintain Linux/Windows servers with a security-first approach.
- Write and execute scripts for monitoring, patch management, and compliance checks.
- Investigate incidents, support incident response, and perform root cause analysis.
- Produce and update security documentation, architecture diagrams, and configuration guides.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enforce security policies and compliance requirements.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and provide continuous support across multiple client projects.
- Continuously research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
**Required Skills:**
- 1–4 years of experience in enterprise networking or security.
- Deep understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SSL/TLS, VPN, and firewall concepts.
- Proficiency in system administration for Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server.
- Knowledge of the CIA triad and security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS.
- Fundamental cloud security experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP (IAM, security groups, KMS).
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple client engagements, and relocate if required.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CKA/CKS, or equivalents.
