Job Description
Job title: Business Analyst – IT Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end requirements engineering for digital initiatives within a contract project. Drive requirement gathering, documentation, testing, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure successful, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery. Expectations: - Produce clear, traceable business and system requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. - Facilitate discovery workshops with >15 stakeholders, synthesize feedback, and resolve issues before escalation. - Maintain project artefacts (implementation plans, issue logs, process maps, FTE analyses). - Partner with IT and business units to develop training plans and support user acceptance testing. Key Responsibilities: - Own detailed requirement phases: identify, track, and resolve business systems issues. - Construct and maintain process maps, gap analyses, and data models (JSON/XML) to support requirements. - Manage documentation (implementation plan, issues log, process maps, reports, FTE analysis). - Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and keep projects within scope and budget. - Conduct stakeholder workshops, large room facilitation, and consensus building. - Develop and execute training plans for new/enhanced processes. - Provide consulting on new initiatives and resolve escalated business‑system issues. Required Skills: - 3–10 years Business Analyst experience, preferably in Agile, project‑based environments. - Expertise in requirements analysis, scope modelling, business process modelling, data requirements, business rules, NFRs, user stories, story mapping, and acceptance criteria. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution abilities. - Proficiency with tooling: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, JIRA/Confluence, Mural, Figma. - Solid understanding of system integration concepts, APIs, and payload analysis (JSON/XML). - Proven facilitation and presentation skills; experience managing large stakeholder groups (15–20+). - Comfortable delivering on projects >$2 M and working on multiple concurrent initiatives. - Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or Sciences. - Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent) preferred. - Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis or related discipline is an asset. - Knowledge of accessibility standards and API testing (Postman) is a plus.
