**Job title:** Cisco Wireless Network Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, configure, and manage multi‑site Cisco‑based data, voice, and video networks. Administer WLAN controllers, firewalls, and broadband services while ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Perform capacity planning, troubleshooting, documentation, and vendor evaluation. Provide technical support and user training, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on infrastructure upgrades.
**Expectations:**
- On‑site, 4+ years of hands‑on experience in Cisco networking for data, voice, and video.
- Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and WLAN controllers (Unified Wireless).
- Administer firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, VoIP, and broadband services across multiple sites.
- Monitor network health; perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and backup/archival.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and telecommunication issues; resolve problems quickly.
- Create and maintain documentation (configurations, maps, SOPs, service records).
- Evaluate vendor proposals, recommend new technologies, and research emerging trends.
- Coordinate inter‑network links and integrate new infrastructure with existing systems.
- Train users on networking, telephony, voicemail, and video conferencing tools.
- Provide on‑call support (weekends and evenings).
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency with Cisco IOS, LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless LAN controllers.
- Experience with firewall administration, broadband, and VoIP solutions.
- Knowledge of legacy and current voice, data, and video technologies.
- Strong PC troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Project management, documentation, and interpersonal communication.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field *or* equivalent experience.
- CCNA and CCNE (desired); CompTIA A+ and Network+ (desirable).
- Higher Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) highly desirable.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with no more than six points on the driving record.
