Job Description
**Job Title:** Backend Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems and APIs that power mission‑critical applications for a cloud‑based food‑delivery platform. Work across infrastructure, platform, and product domains, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high‑performance services. **Expectations:** - Deliver robust backend solutions aligned with business goals. - Maintain system reliability, performance, and security. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation. - Mentor junior engineers or lead initiatives based on seniority. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect and implement scalable APIs and microservices. - Build and maintain infrastructure components on cloud platforms. - Develop developer tools and platform services to improve team efficiency. - Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of production systems. - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ship end‑to‑end features. - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and automated testing. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in backend languages (Java and/or Go). - Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases. - Hands‑on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. - Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems. - Solid debugging and problem‑solving abilities. - Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) preferred. - Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and event‑driven architectures a plus. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Engineer) are optional but beneficial.
