Job Description: **Job Title:** Senior Software Engineer, API **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain high‑volume, low‑latency API services for a consumer‑focused platform serving tens of millions of users. Lead end‑to‑end feature delivery, ensure code quality, and collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams in a remote environment. **Expectations:** - Deliver robust, testable, and performant code with minimal supervision. - Translate product requirements into technical specifications and architecture. - Make informed technical decisions balancing requirements, constraints, and trade‑offs. - Maintain high availability and scalability of AWS‑based services. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build and evolve APIs using TypeScript/Node.js on AWS. - Write unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests; manage CI/CD pipelines. - Contribute to all development phases: spec writing, RFCs, implementation, release, and operations. - Produce technical documentation and feasibility analyses. - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ship new features. **Required Skills:** - 3–4+ years hands‑on experience developing APIs/microservices. - Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js. - Experience with AWS services and cloud‑native architectures. - Strong understanding of database management and object‑oriented programming. - Ability to work independently and within remote, cross‑functional teams. - Solid unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing experience; familiarity with CI/CD. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Proven ability to make technical decisions based on trade‑offs and constraints. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. - (Optional) Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or software engineering are a plus.
