**Job title:** Cloud Engineer / Windows Server Administrator
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure AWS cloud solutions while providing end‑user and server‑admin support in a mixed Windows Server environment. The role is 80 % cloud engineering and 20 % Windows Server administration, focusing on full‑stack development, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence.
**Expectations:**
- 6‑month contract, hybrid working model; must collect equipment locally.
- Deliver high‑quality cloud and on‑prem solutions within a fast‑moving commercial/defense environment.
- Collaborate closely with senior architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, etc.) using IaC (CloudFormation, SAM, Terraform).
- Build and deploy full‑stack web applications with React, Node.js, and TypeScript; construct serverless APIs via AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
- Automate CI/CD pipelines with CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, and Git, ensuring rapid, reliable releases.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty; configure automated remediation.
- Optimize performance, cost, and security of cloud resources; conduct vulnerability assessments and apply patch management.
- Provide Windows Server administration (2016‑2022): system updates, user access, AD/Group Policy, backup, disaster recovery, and support on‑prem SAAS environments.
- Resolve end‑user issues, develop documentation, and conduct training for staff on new tools and processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to R&D initiatives.
**Required Skills:**
- **Cloud:** Intermediate‑to‑advanced AWS skills; proficiency in IaC (CloudFormation, SAM, Terraform).
- **Development:** React, Node.js, TypeScript; Python scripting; REST/GraphQL API design.
- **DevOps:** Git, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes (basic), AWS Code* services.
- **Infrastructure:** VPC architecture, subnets, security groups, IAM, CloudWatch/CloudTrail.
- **Server Admin:** Windows Server 2016‑2022 administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Store‑on‑Demand, SCCM, and event‑log monitoring.
- **Soft Skills:** Analytical mindset, problem‑solving, strong written & verbal communication, stakeholder collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified Developer – Associate (preferred).
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals or Server Administrator (preferred).
