Business Analyst (Investment Management)
**Role Summary**
Senior Business Analyst with 10+ years of experience in investment management or hedge fund environments, driving large‑scale technology transformation initiatives. Responsible for end‑to‑end business analysis, data modeling, testing coordination, and acting as project manager on smaller engagements.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 10 years as a Business Analyst in investment management, investment services, or hedge funds.
- Deep knowledge in at least two functional domains (e.g., Trading, Compliance, Trade Settlement, Investment Accounting, Fund Accounting, Corporate Actions, Reconciliations, Performance & Attribution).
- 5+ years of hands‑on SQL experience.
- Ability to lead requirements workshops, produce clear documentation, and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Capability to assume project‑management responsibilities for small projects lacking a dedicated PM.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead business analysis for large‑scale technology transformation projects within the investment management sector.
- Conduct requirements gathering, current‑state assessments, and define target operating models.
- Perform data analysis, validation, and create test plans; coordinate UAT and system testing activities.
- Develop and maintain functional specifications, process flows, and traceability matrices.
- Act as project manager for small‑scale initiatives, overseeing scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Liaise between business users, technology teams, and external vendors to ensure solution alignment.
**Required Skills**
- Business analysis methodologies (BABOK, Agile, Waterfall).
- Expertise in two or more investment‑management domains listed above.
- Advanced SQL querying and data manipulation.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Project management fundamentals for small projects.
**Preferred Skills** *(optional but advantageous)*
- Proficiency in Python or Java.
- Experience with industry vendor platforms (e.g., Eagle STAR/PACE, CRD, Bloomberg AIM, BlackRock Aladdin, SimCorp, Portia).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- CFA Institute Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) certification preferred.
