**Job Title**
UltraTax / Practice CS Consultant (Remote)
**Role Summary**
Provide end‑to‑end configuration, maintenance, and support of Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite—including UltraTax CS, Practice CS, and FileCabinet CS—for a U.S. CPA practice. Deliver technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and train staff while ensuring workflow efficiencies and compliance during tax season.
**Expectations**
* 3‑month minimum engagement, remote, U.S. Eastern Time hours.
* Independent, prioritised work during peak periods.
* Communicate clearly with partners, managers, and staff.
* Document settings, procedures, and provide lightweight training.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Configure, update, and maintain UltraTax CS for all entity types.
- Optimize and integrate workflows across UltraTax CS, Practice CS, and FileCabinet CS.
- Troubleshoot performance, e‑filing, roll‑forward, permissions, and updates; resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare systems for year‑end: apply updates, perform pro‑forma/rollovers, set up e‑file, validate data.
- Support Practice CS in time & billing, staff scheduling, client management, and reporting.
- Manage FileCabinet CS functions: document indexing, security, backup/restore, retention.
- Collaborate with IT and leadership to refine tax workflows, templates, and best practices.
- Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions.
**Required Skills**
- 3 + years’ experience in a public accounting or tax firm using the Thomson Reuters CS Suite.
- In‑depth hands‑on knowledge of UltraTax CS (primary focus).
- Working familiarity with Practice CS (time & billing) and FileCabinet CS (document management).
- Proficiency in UltraTax installation, configuration, updates, pro‑forma rollovers, e‑file set‑up, and error resolution.
- Strong understanding of user security, permissions, and data paths.
- Ability to gather requirements and propose solutions to senior staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; translate technical detail into business terms.
- Capability to work independently, manage multiple support requests, and meet deadlines.
- Must be available for U.S. East Coast hours.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
- Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite certification (desired but not mandatory).
