Job Description
Job title: Purview Developer Role Summary: Implement and maintain data governance solutions using Microsoft Purview. Manage cataloging, classification, lineage, and privacy compliance across enterprise data assets. Coordinate with data owners to enforce policies and provide user training. Expactations: Deliver robust data governance frameworks that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Ensure accurate metadata, high data quality, and user adoption of Purview tools. Provide expert guidance on data privacy and classification standards. Key Responsibilities: - Design and deploy Purview-based governance frameworks. - Catalog and classify datasets, applying accurate metadata tags and usage metrics. - Define, communicate, and enforce data policies with stakeholders. - Monitor data lineage and quality to maintain trustworthiness and compliance. - Train and support users on data discovery and governance functionalities. - Research and apply emerging data governance trends and best practices. Required Skills: - Hands‑on experience as a Purview Developer or equivalent data governance role. - Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 E5 Purview features and integrations. - Proficiency in data cataloging, classification, and governance methodologies. - Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and compliance frameworks. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills. - Effective communication and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). - Relevant certifications in Microsoft Purview or data governance (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Data Management Specialist).
