Job Description
Job title: Audit Industry Placement – Varied sectors Role Summary: Undergraduate students will undertake a one‑year placement in Audit & Accounts, gaining hands‑on experience across multiple sectors. You will support audit teams, engage with clients, and develop core audit and accounting skills in a professional environment. Expectations: - Complete the placement before graduation, with one academic year remaining. - Demonstrate motivation for a career in audit and a commitment to professional ethics. - Deliver high‑quality work, meet deadlines, and maintain strong client relationships. - Progress to a graduate role and ACA qualification if performance merits. Key Responsibilities: - Build knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and audit guidelines. - Represent the firm in client meetings and attend audit sites. - Assist audit planning: review prior year data, prepare lead schedules. - Conduct audit testing on income, expenses, assets, liabilities. - Verify financial schedules, ensure agreements with supporting records. - Prepare financial statements in accordance with standards and legal requirements. - Draft corporation tax computations; support tax‑related audit procedures. - Gather documentation, clarify client queries, and maintain accurate working papers. - Update client data in accounting and tax software. - Identify system/process improvements. - Prepare audit close‑out materials and support close‑out meetings. - Communicate with technical, tax, and internal teams; manage client expectations. Required Skills: - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills. - Proactive, results‑driven, and ethically minded. - Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Eagerness to learn, adapt, and collaborate. Required Education & Certifications: - Current undergraduate student (any discipline) with at least 112 UCAS points (or equivalent). - Expected 2:1 or above in final academic year. - Eligible to work in the UK for at least one year.
