Job Description
**Job Title** Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship **Role Summary** Provide classroom and individual student support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO, progressing toward a Level 5 Teaching Assistant qualification through a 16‑month apprenticeship. **Expectations** * Complete the HLTA apprenticeship in 16 months. * Demonstrate a Level 3 TA qualification or ≥3 years of TA experience. * Grow competence in literacy, SEN, behaviour management and resource provision. **Key Responsibilities** * Support pupils individually or in small groups, including those with SEN and EAL. * Assist the SENCO with planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons. * Prepare, organise, and maintain classroom resources and learning materials. * Record student progress, assist in assessments, and support behaviour policies. * Lead literacy initiatives for KS3/KS4, deliver targeted interventions, and conduct literacy testing (e.g., dyslexia screening). * Contribute to library activities, including accelerated reading lessons. * Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities. * Comply with all safeguarding, child protection, health & safety, equality, and data protection policies. **Required Skills** * Strong interpersonal communication and empathy. * Ability to remain calm under pressure and follow written guidance. * Teamwork and collaboration within a school environment. * Literacy support and small‑group teaching techniques. * Familiarity with resource planning and lesson delivery. * Basic record‑keeping and data entry proficiency. **Required Education & Certifications** * Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification **or** minimum 3 years in a TA role. * Apprenticeship will lead to Level 5 Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification, delivered by LMP Education. ---
