Job Description

Job Title: Back End Developer Role Summary: Senior Backend Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure backend services for a large-scale automotive finance technology platform. Works collaboratively with cross‑functional teams (frontend, DevOps, platform) to deliver high‑quality, cloud‑native solutions on GCP using Java and Spring Boot. Expectations: - Deliver robust, scalable, and resilient backend components within a regulated environment. - Lead architectural discussions, code reviews, and enforce engineering discipline around testing and quality. - Mentor and support teammates, improve workflows, and contribute to a high‑performance engineering culture. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop backend systems and services with Java/Spring Boot. - Create and review technical designs for complex solutions. - Lead code and architecture reviews. - Collaborate closely with DevOps, frontend, and other engineering teams. - Improve development workflows and engineering practices. - Mentor junior engineers as needed. Required Skills: - 5+ years of experience building and maintaining backend systems. - Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot. - Proven ability to design scalable, resilient architectures. - Proficient with Git‑based workflows and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Strong focus on code quality, automated testing (JUnit, TDD/BDD), and maintainability. - Familiarity with SonarQube, Checkmarx, and related quality/security tooling. - Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. - Experience in regulated environments (finance/lending) is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - No mandatory certifications required.
