**Job Title**
Google Cloud – DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure, tooling, and automation required for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of software across cloud and on‑prem environments. Drive faster release cycles while ensuring security, reliability, and maintainable architecture.
**Expectations**
- Deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Adopt and embed DevOps best practices in every stage of the product lifecycle.
- Quantitatively improve cycle times, deployment frequency, and defect rates.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Implement and evolve DevOps practices for multiple software components.
2. Accelerate software releases, ensuring security controls and risk mitigation for production, testing, and sandbox environments.
3. Leverage continuous integration, deployment, and feedback loops to accelerate user‑centric updates.
4. Evaluate current tools and workflows; recommend and deploy improvements.
5. Configure and manage GCP services (Cloud Run, Load Balancer, Artifact Registry) and associated build/deployment pipelines.
6. Deploy, upgrade, and manage Jenkins controllers and dynamic build nodes on GCP.
7. Author Terraform modules, troubleshoot deployment errors, and maintain infrastructure as code.
8. Build, publish, and deploy container images to registries.
9. Identify automation opportunities and lead their implementation throughout the software lifecycle.
**Required Skills**
- Google Cloud Platform: Cloud Run, Load Balancer, Artifact Registry, and related diagnostics.
- Jenkins: controller deployment, version upgrades, dynamic GCP build nodes.
- Terraform: module development, troubleshooting, and deployment scripting.
- Containerization: Dockerfile creation, registry management, and deployment workflows.
- CI/CD tools and practices, scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑resolution, and communication abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Professional certifications: GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Jenkins Certified Engineer, or Terraform Certified Associate (preferred).
