Job title: Tech Lead Workplace
Role Summary:
Lead the architecture, administration, and optimization of workplace environments, including desktop, telephony, and Microsoft IT assets, at a 3rd‑level engineering level.
Deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions while managing day‑to‑day operations, patching, and support for a large Microsoft ecosystem.
Expectations:
- Maintain end‑to‑end ownership of the workplace stack (Windows desktops, Office 365, Intune, telephony, printers).
- Drive continuous improvement and cost optimisation of all hardware and software assets.
- Serve as the senior technical authority for incident resolution, change management, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the Workplace architecture (desktop, telephony, Windows hardware) in line with enterprise standards.
- Manage the entire IT asset lifecycle: inventory, updates, compliance, and decommissioning.
- Develop and enforce patch‑management strategies for Windows, Office 365, and other Microsoft software.
- Provide N3++ support for complex incidents and collaborate with support teams to resolve issues proactively.
- Plan and execute infrastructure projects, release cycles, and improvement initiatives.
- Produce regular reports on project status, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Identify and propose innovative solutions (e.g., virtualization, Azure integration) to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Required Skills:
- Deep knowledge of Windows Desktop environments (all recent versions, MSI, GPO, Intune).
- Proven experience with Microsoft 365, Office 365, Intune, and Azure services.
- Strong expertise in IT asset management tools, inventory, and version control.
- Advanced skills in Patch Management, update deployment, and security hardening.
- Comprehensive understanding of IP‑based telephony solutions, fleet management, and integration with IT systems.
- Competence in virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, or equivalent) and cloud workplace solutions.
- Experience in 3rd‑level technical support, incident escalation, and root‑cause analysis.
- Project management proficiency (planning, scheduling, reporting).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Bac+5 equivalent).
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSA, MCSE, Office 365, Azure Administrator, or similar) strongly preferred.
- Virtualization and telephony certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, CCNA) are a plus.
