Job Title: Dotnet Developer (FAST Specialist)
Role Summary:
Contract .NET developer focused on analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation for the FAST GenTax system. Works remotely with C#, PostgreSQL, and Visual Studio, implementing enhancements, fixes, and SQR change requests while coordinating with application teams and stakeholders.
Expectations:
- Remote contract position through June 2026 (possible extension).
- Must possess experience in one of the FAST programs: GenTax, FAST DV‑VS, FAST UI‑PL, or FAST CSE.
- Prior work in state, federal, or local government IT environments.
- No C2C arrangements or visa sponsorship required.
- Operate with minimal direct supervision, delivering status updates to a team lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements, design solutions, write code, perform unit and integration tests, and maintain documentation.
- Develop enhancements and resolve production issues following GenTax programming standards.
- Execute SQR change requests and track modifications in the Fast Central Repository (FCR).
- Participate in code reviews, walkthroughs, and structured process improvement activities.
- Manage contingency planning, risk identification, and issue resolution for own tasks and the application team.
- Communicate technical concepts to business and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Coordinate or mentor junior programmers as needed.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in C#, PostgreSQL, and Visual Studio.
- Deep knowledge of FAST Core Components and at least one FAST program (GenTax, FAST DV‑VS, FAST UI‑PL, FAST CSE).
- Experience with government or public‑sector IT systems.
- Strong analytical, modeling, design, and coding abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer, PostgreSQL certification) are a plus but not mandatory.
