**Job Title**
Principal Architect – Integration Platform
**Role Summary**
Own the end‑to‑end technical architecture of a cloud‑native integration platform. Lead architectural strategy, design scalable event‑driven and API‑based patterns, set standards, and drive performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Influence cross‑functional teams without formal people management, focusing on architectural governance, proof‑of‑concepts, and technical decision making.
**Expectations**
* 10+ years of experience building distributed, high‑throughput cloud‑native platforms.
* Deep expertise in event‑driven architecture, APIs, integration platforms, and Python‑based backends.
* Proven track record in Azure or equivalent cloud environments, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
* Ability to lead through technical influence, not formal authority.
* Optional: experience with iPaaS, Kafka/Event Hub, logistics or fintech systems, and distributed data stores (MongoDB).
**Key Responsibilities**
* Own platform architecture, defining scalable, resilient, and cost‑effective integration patterns.
* Design and enforce standards for connectors, transformations, fault tolerance, retries, and observability (“golden path”).
* Identify and eliminate architectural bottlenecks; optimize compute, memory, I/O, and cloud spend.
* Lead architectural reviews, enforce design guidelines, and serve as the primary technical gatekeeper.
* Build POCs for complex integration scenarios and unblock cross‑team technical challenges.
* Translate customer and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
* Partner with Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams; communicate trade‑offs, risks, and long‑term implications.
* Maintain clear technical documentation and foster a culture of architectural excellence.
**Required Skills**
* Architecture of distributed, high‑throughput, cloud‑native platforms.
* Event‑driven, API‑centric design, integration patterns, and middleware.
* Python backend development and modern cloud services.
* Azure (preferred) – compute, networking, monitoring, cost management.
* Performance profiling, scalability testing, and cost optimization.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management.
* Ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
* Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) or equivalent.
* Optional: certifications in integration patterns, distributed systems, or event‑driven architecture.
