Sr. QA Engineer – Retail Domain
**Role Summary**
Lead end‑to‑end quality assurance for retail e‑commerce platforms, focusing on automated testing across web, API, and mobile. Deliver robust test strategies, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and ensure defect‑free releases through proactive analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
**Expectations**
- Own test strategy and framework for a retail‑centric e‑commerce application.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts in multiple tools (Selenium, UFT, Playwright, UI Path).
- Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub).
- Provide API and database validation (SQL).
- Mentor peers, share best practices, and drive continuous quality improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans covering functional, regression, and integration scenarios for web, mobile, and API layers.
- Develop and maintain automation suites in Selenium, UFT, Playwright, and UI Path; extend coverage to iOS/Android mobile automation as needed.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to translate requirements into testable scenarios.
- Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), monitoring results and reporting metrics.
- Investigate and reproduce defects, track them to resolution, and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Perform API automation using REST/GraphQL tools; validate responses and data integrity.
- Execute SQL queries for data validation and pre/post‑condition checks.
- Stay current on industry trends in retail technology and quality assurance practices; recommend improvements.
**Required Skills**
- **Automation**: Selenium, UFT, Playwright; UI Path expertise highly desirable.
- **CI/CD & DevOps**: Jenkins, GitHub (or GitLab); experience automating test runs in pipelines.
- **Scripting**: Java, JavaScript, Python, or C# for test development.
- **API Testing**: Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent; capability to design and run automated API tests.
- **Mobile Testing**: Good knowledge of iOS/Android automation frameworks (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest).
- **Data Validation**: SQL proficiency for database verification.
- **Domain Knowledge**: Strong understanding of retail e‑commerce processes, online shopping workflows, and in‑store integration activities.
- **Soft Skills**: Analytical mindset, proactive problem solving, excellent communication, and stakeholder collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- ISTQB Advanced/Professional certification (or equivalent QA certification) preferred.
