**Job title**
Cyber Security Analyst
**Role Summary**
Senior‑level analyst providing advanced cyber‑security assessment, threat intelligence, software security, and vulnerability services for a state agency. Works remotely with weekly presence at the client CISO office, delivering design, evaluation, and documentation of cloud and enterprise security architectures.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 8 years of progressive security analysis experience.
- Remote work with at least one day per week onsite at the client CISO office.
- Respond to incidents after hours as required.
- Operate with minimal supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment.
- Occasional travel for client service engagements.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct security risk assessments, audits, and reviews of policies, standards, and technical environments in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Design and integrate multi‑level security architectures for systems and networks, ensuring alignment with cloud architecture guidelines.
- Identify and prioritize critical business functions, develop security risk management and system security plans.
- Evaluate proposed cloud security designs for adequacy against acquisition requirements.
- Produce and maintain documentation of information security architecture, cloud security architecture, and system security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle.
- Monitor cybersecurity publications, newsgroups, and industry best practices to identify emerging threats and remediation opportunities.
- Translate operational requirements into appropriate security controls, applying confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non‑repudiation principles.
- Apply network security architecture concepts (topology, protocols, defense‑in‑depth) to assess existing and proposed infrastructure.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced cybersecurity analysis and information security assessment.
- Security and enterprise architecture development, implementation, and management.
- Conducting security risk assessments and audits under SF 800 and other applicable statutes.
- Translating operational requirements into protection needs and security controls.
- Assessing resilience, dependability, and impact of changes on security systems.
- Network security architecture expertise (topology, protocols, defense‑in‑depth).
- Strong communication, presentation, consultative, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution (cybersecurity, information technology security, computer engineering, computer information systems, computer science, or related field).
- Minimum of 8 years qualified work experience in cybersecurity/information security analysis.***
