Job Description
**Job Title** Payment Processing Associate **Role Summary** Process and reconcile a variety of municipal tax payments, maintain accurate records, and provide timely customer service support within the Revenue Customer Service team. **Expectations** - Ensure 100% accuracy in daily payment processing and balancing. - Meet all legislative and internal deadlines for tax account updates and reporting. - Deliver professional, confidential service to internal and external customers. - Maintain high data‑entry quality and adherence to banking and accounting standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Process and daily balance payments (EFT, wire, pre‑authorized, cheques) for property tax and accounts receivable. - Upload and reconcile daily payment files using electronic banking applications. - Research and allocate unapplied payments to correct tax accounts. - Update tax accounts, maintain PTP file, and generate ASC files for PTP installments. - Record accounts receivable payments in SAP. - Respond to customer inquiries (verbal and written) and provide documentation for account updates. - Serve as backup for process ownership and mortgage information changes. - Perform related duties as assigned. **Required Skills** - Strong data‑entry and mathematical aptitude. - Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, WebEx). - Familiarity with SAP; experience with TXM Tax Manager, INFOR, CAMS, ICON, SharePoint, Crystal, Municipal Connect is a plus. - Knowledge of banking, general accounting procedures, and cashiering. - Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage time effectively, and prioritize under pressure. - Detail‑oriented with strong organizational abilities. **Required Education & Certifications** - Post‑secondary education in finance, accounting, business, or related field. - Minimum 2 years municipal tax, credit/collections, or comparable customer service/administrative experience. - Completion or enrollment in Municipal Revenue Administration Program (MRAP) preferred. - Knowledge of relevant property tax legislation, bylaws, and policies considered an asset.
