**Job title:** Senior Security Engineer – Tanium
**Role Summary:**
Lead design, deployment, and ongoing management of Tanium-based endpoint security and compliance solutions for federal government environments. Drive automation of monitoring, patching, and incident response while ensuring alignment with FISMA, RMF, and NIST frameworks.
**Expectations:**
- 12+ years in IT/security, US citizenship with DHS clearance.
- Proficiency in Tanium, Tenable, ForeScout; experience with Windows/Linux endpoints.
- Strong scripting (PowerShell, Python, shell) and problem‑solving.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Architect, deploy, and maintain Tanium infrastructure, modules, connectors.
2. Develop and manage Tanium content (sensors, packages, questions).
3. Configure and optimize patching, compliance, discovery, threat response, monitoring, enforcement modules.
4. Oversee package deployment, client health, and module updates across enterprise endpoints.
5. Automate security/compliance workflows using Tanium.
6. Support vulnerability management with Tanium/Tenable.
7. Integrate Tanium Connect with external security tools.
8. Participate in incident response via Tanium Threat Response.
9. Generate compliance reports for federal requirements.
10. Troubleshoot Tanium, Tenable, ForeScout issues and document all configurations and procedures.
**Required Skills:**
- Tanium, Tenable, ForeScout expertise.
- Endpoint security fundamentals; Windows/Linux OS administration.
- Scripting: PowerShell, Python, shell.
- Knowledge of federal security frameworks (FISMA, RMF, NIST, CISA, CDM).
- Analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
- 12+ years of IT/security experience.
- Tanium Certified Operator or Administrator (preferred).
- Security+, CISSP Associate, or CySA+ (preferred).
