Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust was formed on 1 June 2018 following a merger between South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Partnership NHS Trust.

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides physical and mental health, learning disability and adult social care services across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Shropshire. We provide a vast range of community services for adults and children and specialised services such as rheumatology and rehabilitation, which are delivered in venues ranging from health centres, GP practices, community hospitals and people's own homes.

The Trust also provides services on a wider regional or national basis including perinatal, eating disorder and forensic services. We deliver out of area sexual health services and our Inclusions service offers psychological and drug and alcohol services, in the community and in prisons, and has contracts across the country. We also provide genitourinary medicine services.

As an organisation we serve a population of 1.5 million, over a core geography of 2,400 square miles, and employ around 8,500 members of staff.

Job Description
**Job Title** Health and Fitness Assistant **Role Summary** Support the physical health team within secure inpatient forensic settings, delivering exercise and fitness interventions to service users with mental health needs under clinical supervision. **Expectations** - 6‑month fixed‑term contract. - No visa sponsorship available. - Work collaboratively with dietitians, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals. - Provide safe, evidence‑based exercise programmes and maintain accurate records. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and conduct tailored exercise sessions for assigned service users. - Monitor safety, progress and adherence during all activities. - Record and report outcomes, providing timely written and verbal feedback. - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review and adjust individual care plans. - Support allied health staff in implementing and evaluating treatment objectives. - Promote overall recovery and wellbeing through high‑quality, results‑measured care. **Required Skills** - Level 3 fitness qualification (e.g., NVQ, OCN, or equivalent). - Knowledge of exercise prescription in mental health settings. - Ability to work safely in a secure inpatient environment. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. - Proficiency in record keeping and documentation. **Required Education & Certifications** - Level 3 personal trainer / advanced gym instructor qualification. - GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths. - (Desirable) BSc in Sports Science or related discipline. ---
