Job title: Cloud Engineer
Role Summary:
Responsible for design, deployment, monitoring, and upkeep of on‑premises and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Provides technical leadership, troubleshooting, and mentorship while participating in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
Expactations:
• Deliver 24/7 system reliability through on‑call support and rapid incident resolution.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects, including migration, patch management, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategy.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with third‑party vendors to meet service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, administer, and support on‑premises and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, VMware vSphere).
• Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain Windows Server, Linux, storage, and data center hardware.
• Manage patch management, performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) architectures and validate through testing.
• Conduct impact analysis for new or expanded systems and plan upgrades to satisfy SLA requirements.
• Provide technical input on future technology roadmap and system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, coordinating with internal teams and vendors.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, and related DevOps tools.
• Maintain documentation, procedures, and technical standards.
• Participate in a rotational 24/7 on‑call schedule.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years infrastructure or systems administration experience.
• Proficient with Windows Server (2016‑2022), Linux, VMware vSphere (ESXi, NSX), Azure/AWS SysOps.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
• Experience with backup/recovery solutions (e.g., Rubrik) and monitoring (e.g., SolarWinds).
• Hands‑on DevOps toolsets: GitHub, Terraform, Ansible.
• Ability to perform system impact analysis, project planning, cost estimation.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (3+ years allowed in lieu of degree).
• Azure, AWS, or Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.
• Formal project management training or experience is a plus.
