Job Title: Head of Engineering
Role Summary: Lead the engineering organization of a fast‑growing fintech platform, setting the technical standard, scaling the team, and delivering core financial services (payments, cards, FX, lending). Drive architecture, operational excellence, and cross‑functional collaboration to solve customer problems and enhance product capabilities.
Expactations: • Own the high‑velocity, high‑quality delivery of engineering initiatives.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing team, fostering coding craftsmanship and career growth.
• Partner with product, operations, and go‑to‑market groups to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Drive innovation in backend systems, infrastructure, and integrations with banking partners and third‑party APIs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and scale a multidisciplinary engineering team, handling hiring, coaching, sprint planning, and blocker removal.
- Actively contribute to design, architecture, and code of a large‑scale, secure, and scalable platform.
- Own the operational health of the engineering group: sprint velocity, capacity, quality metrics, and release cadence.
- Lead and participate in the development of core financial products (payments, card issuance, FX, lending).
- Design and coordinate complex integrations with banks and external APIs for virtual cards, cross‑border transfers, and data flows.
- Advise product, operations, and GTM teams on technical feasibility and delivery timelines.
- Shape long‑term technical strategy as the organization grows.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of software development experience, with 4+ years in technical leadership.
- Proven expertise in Java/Kotlin and modern web technologies.
- Deep knowledge of system design, architecture, scalability, and security best practices.
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling products from inception to growth.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (advanced degree or certifications are a plus).
