**Job Title:** AI Risk/Governance Consultant
**Role Summary:**
Steer the organization’s responsible AI initiatives by establishing, maintaining, and enforcing a comprehensive AI governance framework. Act as the central coordinator for AI risk management, regulatory monitoring, policy development, and stakeholder communication to ensure AI deployments align with legal, ethical, and strategic standards.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver governance artifacts and insights that enable compliant AI use across all business units.
- Keep AI risk and regulatory knowledge current and actionable for senior leadership.
- Foster cross‑functional collaboration to embed governance guardrails in every AI lifecycle stage.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage AI Governance Council activities: scheduling, agenda prep, minutes, and decision tracking.
- Develop, implement, and update AI governance policies, procedures, and review processes.
- Monitor AI‑related regulations, industry standards, and emerging risks globally; produce impact assessments and recommendations.
- Maintain a centralized inventory of all AI/ML solutions, including risk classification, data sources, ownership, and lifecycle status.
- Ensure each AI solution has documented guardrails covering model performance, ethics, data use, oversight, and compliance checks.
- Support risk assessment workflows and conduct/facilitate AI risk and data privacy impact assessments.
- Draft AI‑specific policies, standards, and guidelines in partnership with legal, IT, data, operations, and security teams.
- Serve as liaison between technical and non‑technical stakeholders; prepare and present reports, dashboards, and training materials on AI governance.
**Required Skills:**
- Knowledge of governance frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001).
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, lifecycle, risks, and ethical considerations.
- Experience in governance, IT compliance, risk management, or technology policy.
- Excellent project coordination, documentation, and agenda‑setting abilities.
- Ability to interpret regulatory updates and translate them into actionable corporate guidance.
- Effective communication skills with a varied audience (technical teams, legal, business leaders).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Law, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in governance, IT compliance, technology policy, or risk management.
- Certification in a relevant governance or compliance framework is an advantage (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent).
