**Job title:** AWS Lead Software Engineer/Developer
**Role Summary:** Lead technical delivery for AWS-based digital payment disbursement platform. Drive architecture, development, and hands‑on coding (80%) while providing leadership and mentorship (20%). Act as SME across payment portfolio, delivering scalable, event‑driven, secure solutions using Typescript, React, and AWS services.
**Expectations:** • 8+ years cloud development experience, 5+ years AWS architectural role
• Proven leadership in agile teams, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery oversight
• Strong Typescript & React expertise, hands‑on API and UI development
• Advanced knowledge of AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, AppSync, Cognito, VPC, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, QuickSight, GuardDuty, WAF, SecurityHub, Config, SES, TransferFamily
• Experience troubleshooting with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, ServiceNow change/incident management
• Ability to design and implement modular, configuration‑driven, and normalized data models for high‑volume payment processing
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Serve as technical lead and SME for Payment Disbursement portfolio
- Own architectural design, technical documentation, and solution proposals for mid‑size projects
- Build event‑driven payment engine on Lambda, orchestrating SQS/SNS queues for origination, processing, and settlement
- Develop scalable storage: EC2 containers, DynamoDB tables, RDS PostgreSQL instances
- Create ad‑hoc analytics with QuickSight; build security controls (GuardDuty, WAF, SecurityHub, Cognito)
- Implement CDN via CloudFront, host static assets on S3; expose APIs through API Gateway/AppSync, secure with SecretsManager; log to Splunk
- Enable notifications and monitoring with SES, TransferFamily for bulk transfers
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, unit/automated testing, defect management, and production support
- Track and report progress using Azure DevOps or Jira
- Support staffing: referral, interview, onboarding of dev team members
- Provide 24/7/365 L3 production support across shifts
**Required Skills:**
- AWS Cloud Architecture (Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, AppSync, Cognito, VPC, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, QuickSight, GuardDuty, WAF, SecurityHub, Config, SES, TransferFamily)
- Typescript, React, Node.js, JavaScript UI development
- Agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog grooming
- DevOps tools: Docker, EC2, CloudFormation/Chef/Puppet, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Azure DevOps/Jira
- Monitoring & logging: CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, ServiceNow change/incident management
- Security best practices, threat monitoring, web API protection
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑team collaboration
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or above (preferred)
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate (preferred)
- Certifications in React or JavaScript frameworks are a plus.
