Job Description
**Job Title:** DevSecOps Intern **Role Summary:** Six‑month internship supporting the Digital Office’s DevSecOps function. The intern will help embed security by design into development pipelines, automate security testing, and improve visibility of security metrics across Wakam’s digital insurance platforms. **Expectations:** - Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related degree program. - Basic understanding of OWASP Top 10, vulnerability management, and secure coding principles. - Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go). - Strong problem‑solving ability, quick learning of new tools, and effective communication. - Collaborative, detail‑oriented mindset with a passion for development‑security‑operations integration. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement security features in CI/CD pipelines for early testing and feedback. - Integrate automated scanning tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) into development workflows. - Build security gates and quality checks to block vulnerable code from production. - Assist development teams in adopting shift‑left security practices and create developer‑friendly tooling/documentation. - Develop dashboards and reports to track security metrics, application scores, and remediation progress. - Support implementation of security monitoring, alerting, and visibility solutions for digital applications. - Collaborate with developers, SRE/DevOps engineers, and security stakeholders to identify pain points and drive continuous improvement. **Required Skills:** - Knowledge of security fundamentals (OWASP Top 10, secure coding, vulnerability management). - Scripting/programming experience (Python, Bash, Go, etc.). - Understanding of basic CI/CD concepts and Git‑based workflows. - Ability to work in cross‑functional, fast‑moving teams and communicate technical concepts clearly. - Analytical mindset with attention to detail in security‑related tasks. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Pursuing a bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a closely related field. - No specific certifications required; relevant coursework or projects in security, DevOps, or cloud computing are advantageous.
