Job Description
Job Title: Linux & Windows Systems Engineer – Vulnerability Management Role Summary: Execute day‑to‑day infrastructure operations for Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS) and Windows Server (2016‑2022) environments, focusing on vulnerability remediation, patching, and security hardening. Act as an individual contributor who excels in structured, process‑driven settings and collaborates closely with IT and security teams to manage vulnerabilities under defined SLAs. Expectations: - 5–10 years of hands‑on systems engineering experience. - Proven track record in Linux and Windows Server administration, vulnerability remediation, and patch management. - Ability to work independently, prioritize ticket resolution, and meet service level commitments. - Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills. - Familiarity with cloud and virtualization platforms and basic scripting. Key Responsibilities: - Manage, troubleshoot, and tune Linux and Windows Server environments. - Perform OS patching, updates, and hardening in alignment with security policies. - Remediate vulnerabilities identified by security tools (Qualys, Nessus, Rapid7) and SOC teams. - Track remediation tickets, ensuring closure within SLA timelines. - Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Cloud teams on CVE analysis, patch deployments, and risk mitigation. - Participate in change management, incident response, and operational reviews. - Maintain and update system documentation, patch records, and SOPs. - Support audits and security reviews as required. Required Skills: - Linux OS administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS). - Windows Server administration (2016‑2022). - Vulnerability remediation and patch management. - Ticket‑driven, SLA‑based environment experience. - Strong communication and teamwork. Preferred/Good to Have: - Experience with Qualys, Nessus, Rapid7. - VMware virtualization or Azure/AWS cloud experience. - Basic Bash or PowerShell scripting. - Understanding of CVEs, OS hardening, and least privilege principles. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Certifications: RHCSA or Red Hat Certified System Administrator; Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals or equivalent; CompTIA Security+ (preferred).
