**Job Title:** Database Administrator
**Role Summary:**
Administer and support mission‑critical Oracle databases on Exadata and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, develop and optimize SQL/PLSQL scripts, manage middleware stacks (WebLogic, Tomcat, Java), and provide production application support across on‑premises and cloud environments.
**Expectations:**
Deliver high availability, performance, and security for enterprise data and applications. Maintain systems within SLAs, respond to incidents (including after‑hours), and continuously improve automation and deployment processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Administer Oracle databases on Exadata and OCI, applying patches and upgrades.
- Design, develop, and tune SQL/PLSQL, SQL*Loader, Data Pump scripts and shell/PowerShell wrappers.
- Install, configure, migrate, and maintain web/COTS applications on Windows and Unix platforms.
- Manage middleware stacks (WebLogic, Tomcat, Java) and BI tools (SAP BO, Power BI, Oracle BIP).
- Apply Critical Patch Updates and other vendor patches to databases, middleware, and BI systems.
- Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Unix shell, Windows batch) for administrative tasks and deployment.
- Deploy and migrate database, PL/SQL, and Java modules from dev to prod.
- Implement SSL certificates, key pairs, and cipher suites per security standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of SOA architecture, enterprise networking (firewalls, VLANs, VCNs, subnets), and identity management (LDAP, SSO, AD).
- Conduct proactive monitoring of DB and middleware, responding to alerts and incidents.
**Required Skills:**
- Oracle DBA experience (Exadata, OCI).
- Strong SQL/PLSQL, shell scripting, and automation (PowerShell, Unix shell).
- Middleware administration (WebLogic, Tomcat, Java).
- BI tools experience (SAP BO, Power BI, Oracle BIP).
- Knowledge of SQL*Loader, Data Pump, and data utilities.
- Security fundamentals: SSL/TLS, key management, cipher suite configuration.
- Networking basics: firewalls, VLANs, subnets.
- Identity/SSO management (LDAP, AD).
- Proactive monitoring and incident response skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent database certification preferred.
- Additional certifications in middleware, BI, or security (e.g., WebLogic, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.
