Job Description
**Job Title** Mechanical Component Testing Technician Trainee (Alternant) **Role Summary** A mechanical component testing technician trainee responsible for planning, executing, and documenting thermal‑hydraulic loop tests of marine nuclear propulsion components. Works under the direction of a senior Test Technician within a 5‑person team, collaborating with engineering, maintenance, safety, and installation departments. **Expectations** - Actively participate in test definition and planning. - Maintain quality standards and safety protocols. - Communicate progress and issues promptly to technical leads. - Demonstrate teamwork, curiosity, and solution orientation. - Manage administrative elements of test planning (documentation, quality plans). **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Test Planning** – Draft test programs in coordination with the Technical Lead; define instrumentation and write the Quality Implementation Plan (Plan Qualité Réalisation). 2. **Test Execution** – Carry out scheduled tests; monitor test parameters; manage interfaces and risk alerts; ensure adherence to the Quality Plan. 3. **Documentation** – Author final test reports, quality records, and any required corrective actions. 4. **Stakeholder Coordination** – Liaise with Installation Lead, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation maintenance teams, Safety, and Engineering Management. 5. **Compliance & Security** – Prepare for and comply with security clearance procedures for defense‑related information. **Required Skills** - Strong written and verbal communication. - Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. - Proactive problem‑solving and continuous improvement mindset. - Proficiency with common office software (MS Office, Word, Excel). - Understanding of quality assurance processes and documentation. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current or soon‑to‑be holder of a BAC (high‑school diploma) with plans to pursue a 2‑3 year DUT/BUT in Physical Measurements or related field. - No specific certifications required; willingness to undergo security clearance (SGDSN/PSE, Code de la Défense). - Minimum of baseline mechanical engineering or physics knowledge suitable for graduate‑level apprenticeship.
