**Job Title:** Senior Infrastructure Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Experienced infrastructure professional responsible for designing, maintaining, and securing a global IT environment (Microsoft 365, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Windows Server/Hyper‑V, Azure AD). Works hybrid (remote + on‑site) across UK and Ireland locations, collaborates with international IT teams, and leads projects to ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver reliable, secure infrastructure supporting a fast‑growing manufacturing business.
- Operate independently in a hybrid, multi‑site setting while adhering to global standards.
- Communicate effectively in English with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Mentor Tier 1/2 support staff and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage Cisco Meraki switches, access points, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls and security solutions.
- Administer Windows Server and Hyper‑V environments, including VMs, networking, and storage.
- Oversee data protection (Veeam, Windows Server Backup) and ensure backup integrity.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Azure AD identity/access controls.
- Maintain endpoint security and device management via Intune.
- Support automation initiatives (PowerShell/Python) to improve efficiency.
- Lead or participate in infrastructure projects such as server migrations, network upgrades, and cloud integrations.
- Evaluate, pilot, and implement new technologies to enhance performance.
- Produce and maintain up‑to‑date infrastructure documentation, procedures, and asset inventories.
**Required Skills:**
- ≥5 years in infrastructure or systems engineering.
- Hands‑on Microsoft 365 administration and Azure AD.
- Cisco Meraki networking (switches, APs, VPN).
- Fortinet firewall and security appliance expertise.
- Windows Server and Hyper‑V administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid, multi‑site environment.
- Full professional fluency in English.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred certifications: Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator.
- Desirable: Experience with Veeam, Microsoft Intune, and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
