Job Description
**Job Title:** Embedded Software & FPGA Intern **Role Summary:** Assist in designing and implementing next‑generation embedded systems that integrate FPGA and advanced hardware architectures for satellite and microsatellite projects. Work collaboratively with electronics and embedded software engineers to translate simulation‑level designs into production‑ready hardware and software solutions, supporting qualification testing and system integration. **Expectations:** - Complete tasks as part of short, agile development cycles. - Communicate progress and challenges clearly with cross‑functional teams. - Demonstrate adaptability and a “touche‑à‑tout” mindset while maintaining focus on high‑impact climate monitoring missions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, code, and verify FPGA logic blocks (VHDL) for Xilinx targets. - Develop low‑level drivers and communication layers (SPI, AXI, UART) for embedded CPUs. - Port simulation code to qualification test environments (EQM) for flight‑ready hardware. - Support thermal vacuum qualification campaigns. - Contribute to the writing of Embedded Software Specification Requirements Documents (SRDs). - Collaborate on Linux‑based real‑time operating system development (RTOS / Linux). - Use version control (GitHub) for all code artifacts. **Required Skills:** - Strong foundation in FPGA design (VHDL). - Proficiency in C and Python (or MicroPython); familiarity with Rust a plus. - Experience with embedded Linux and real‑time environments. - Knowledge of hardware‑software interfaces (SPI, AXI, UART). - Ability to debug and verify hardware/system‑level functionality. - Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills. - Effective communication in cross‑disciplinary teams. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current student in the final or penultimate year of a degree in: - Digital Electronics / FPGA Engineering - Embedded Systems - Industrial Computing / Embedded Software Development - No mandatory certifications required; coursework or projects demonstrating FPGA and embedded software experience preferred.
