Job Description
**Job Title:** Sr. Cloud System Engineer (AWS) **Role Summary:** Lead the assessment, remediation, modernisation, and migration of enterprise‑grade AWS environments. Provide architectural guidance, implement security and governance controls, optimise cost, and deliver automation through IaC. Drive multi‑account operations, support workload migrations between AWS, other clouds, and on‑premises, and mentor stakeholders on best practices. **Expectations:** - Own end‑to‑end lifecycle of AWS environments for multiple businesses. - Deliver secure, compliant, scalable, and cost‑efficient solutions. - Communicate findings and recommendations to technical teams and executive stakeholders. - Mentor peers, lead projects independently, and influence cloud strategy. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Assess current AWS setups, identify gaps in security, governance, performance, and cost; propose actionable improvements. 2. Design, deploy, and maintain scalable solutions across compute, storage, networking (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, VPC). 3. Administer AWS accounts/organizations, enforce IAM, SSO, Control Tower for secure multi‑account governance. 4. Lead migration planning, design, testing, and validation for workloads between AWS, Azure, and on‑premises. 5. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, third‑party tools). 6. Apply cost‑optimization strategies: tagging, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, governance policies. 7. Develop and maintain IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet) for automated deployment. 8. Collaborate with Information Security to embed guardrails, meet regulatory standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP). 9. Document configurations, standards, and procedures; provide training and continuous improvement. 10.
