Job Title: Data Privacy – Technical Architect (BigID)
Role Summary
Design, deploy, and maintain BigID‑based data privacy solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments. Drive enterprise‑scale data discovery, classification, and protection while ensuring adherence to Canadian, US, and industry‑specific regulations. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and stakeholder communication throughout the solution lifecycle.
Expectations
- Operate with 10+ years of senior data architecture or privacy engineering experience.
- Demonstrate 5+ years of hands‑on authority with the BigID platform.
- Lead cross‑functional teams in implementing end‑to‑end privacy‑centric architectures.
- Maintain and evolve data catalogs, glossaries, and lineage documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement BigID for data discovery, classification, and compliance.
- Design privacy‑centric data models supporting PII detection, lineage, and consent management.
- Integrate BigID with Azure, Databricks, Collibra, and other governance tools.
- Lead technical workshops translating privacy requirements into scalable solutions.
- Ensure compliance with PIPEDA, Law 25, Ontario Bill 194, CCPA/CPRA, CPA, NERC CIP, FERC, and other relevant regulations.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to delivery teams.
Required Skills
- Senior expertise in data architecture, privacy engineering, or enterprise IT.
- Deep knowledge of BigID deployment models (SaaS, On‑Prem, Hybrid, Containerized).
- Proficiency with BigID connectors, AI‑based scanning, and discovery methods.
- Cloud data platform experience (Azure, Databricks, etc.).
- Strong SQL, scripting, and data governance fundamentals.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Required Education & Certifications
- BigID Certified Architect (preferred).
- Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
