**Job Title** Software Engineer Intern **Role Summary** A 12–16 week summer internship focused on building and scaling features for a high‑traffic live‑shopping platform. Interns work in cross‑functional, multidisciplinary teams, directly contributing code, architecture, and ideas that impact over 1 million users. **Expectations** - Deliver production‑ready code and functional features. - Collaborate with product, design, and data science to drive feature ownership. - Gain hands‑on experience in project ideation, execution, and cross‑team coordination. - Contribute to system design discussions and architecture decisions. - Must reside within commuting distance of one of the company’s hubs (NYC, LA, SF, Seattle). **Key Responsibilities** - Design, implement, and test new user‑facing features for live‑streaming and marketplace experiences. - Develop growth‑centric tooling to scale buyer and seller flows. - Architect and optimize scalable systems that support marketplace trust and reliability. - Write clean, maintainable code, comprehensive unit and integration tests. - Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, retrospectives). - Collect and analyze metrics to evaluate feature performance and user impact. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go). - Experience with web frameworks (React, Node.js, Django, FastAPI) and RESTful APIs. - Understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling. - Familiarity with microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms. - Ability to design for high‑scale, low‑latency workloads and real‑time streaming. - Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills. - Comfortable using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows. **Required Education & Certifications** - Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Expected graduation December 2026 or Summer 2027. - No additional certifications required.
