**Job Title:** Backend Engineer III
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and maintain backend services for a fast‑growing digital banking platform. Work within cross‑functional squads to deliver reliable, scalable, and customer‑focused features. Contribute to distributed systems, resilient software, and the broader engineering community.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, implement, test, and deploy backend services supporting banking, payments, wealth, or related domains.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, data analysts, and other engineers in a squad setting.
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability through monitoring, incident response, and post‑mortems.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentorship of junior team members.
- Contribute to open‑source initiatives and internal tooling.
- Maintain documentation and adhere to security and compliance standards.
**Required Skills:**
- Backend development experience (3+ years).
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems and micro‑service architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one strongly‑typed language (Go, Java, C, Scala).
- Experience with REST/ gRPC APIs, message queues, and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Unit/integration testing and test‑automation practices.
- Agile/squad workflow and effective communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- No formal degree required; equivalent professional experience accepted.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional) are a plus but not mandatory.
