Job Title: Chief Cloud & Compute Engineer
Role Summary: Lead enterprise cloud and compute operations, aligning architecture and services with executive strategy, ensuring high availability, compliance, and continuous improvement across agency and customer environments.
Expectations: Deliver 12‑month contract performance, driving technical excellence and governance, maintaining SLAs/KPIs, and reporting to C‑Suite stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct cloud & compute architecture team, setting best‑practice policies and ensuring alignment with CIO/CTO strategy.
- Interpret market trends to advise on technology foundations and roadmaps.
- Cultivate unified IT culture across agencies and maintain customer‑oriented service delivery.
- Develop, track, and report KPI dashboards, SLA compliance metrics, and executive summaries.
- Design and implement disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience plans meeting minimum operational standards.
- Lead project management of cloud compute system designs, deployments, and optimizations.
- Build business cases with cost‑benefit analyses for technology investments.
- Author standards, policies, procedures, and roles for cloud operation governance.
- Resolve complex technical issues cost‑effectively and proactively mitigate risks.
- Communicate incidents, risks, and performance metrics to executive leadership.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years in cloud and compute architecture, preferably enterprise scale.
- Proficient in AWS, Azure, or GCP architecture, infrastructure as code, and automation.
- Deep understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity, and resiliency models.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional team coordination.
- Expertise in KPI/SLAs, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Project management experience, including budgeting, resource allocation, and change management.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Relevant certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
