Job Description
Job title: Platform Engineer – Azure Role Summary: Senior engineer responsible for designing, building, and optimizing Microsoft Azure infrastructure for high‑scale, highly available, secure, and cost‑efficient cloud environments. Leads architecture, automation, and security of cloud‑based applications; collaborates with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable platform services. Expactations: - Deliver scalable, secure, and performance‑optimized Azure solutions with minimal downtime. - Maintain operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement. - Mentor junior staff and drive DevOps practices across the organization. - Communicate complex cloud concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and cost‑management requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement Azure compute, networking, storage, identity, and security services (VMs, AKS, App Services, etc.). - Design multi‑cloud/hybrid architectures for availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance. - Manage infrastructure lifecycle using IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Azure DevOps). - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins. - Automate provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and logging (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Security Center). - Enforce security best practices: encryption, IAM, firewall, VPN, network segmentation. - Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve complex production issues. - Produce comprehensive documentation of architecture, automation scripts, and operational procedures. - Lead and mentor team members, share knowledge, and foster continuous learning. Required Skills: - Microsoft Azure infrastructure (Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity, Security). - Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerization (Docker). - Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, ARM templates, Azure DevOps pipelines. - Monitoring and log aggregation: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Security Center, Splunk, Prometheus. - Automation/scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python. - DevOps principles and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab). - Cloud security: IAM, firewalls, VPNs, encryption. - Hybrid/multi‑cloud strategy. - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience. - 7+ years in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering; 3+ years hands‑on Azure. - Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent) are highly preferred.
