**Job Title**
Senior Project Cost Analyst
**Role Summary**
Lead the financial oversight of complex construction projects from initiation through close‑out. Deliver accurate budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and cost targets. Mentor junior analysts and drive continuous improvement in cost management processes.
**Expectations**
- Manage financial planning for a portfolio of large‑scale projects.
- Provide actionable insights to executive decision‑makers.
- Serve as primary liaison for field staff, vendors, and cross‑functional teams.
- Mentor associate project cost analysts and promote professional development.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate project cost management across controllers, estimators, logistics, supply chain, and governance teams.
- Conduct site visits to validate progress, resolve escalated issues, and ensure milestone completion.
- Apply construction methodology and project gating systems to guide teams through all phases.
- Lead budget tracking, resource planning, crew coordination, and material management; identify cost‑optimization opportunities.
- Review and approve gating requests; enforce spend controls and alignment with project goals.
- Ensure timely closure of internal orders and uphold accuracy in financial reporting.
- Develop detailed financial forecasts, variance analyses, and executive‑level reports.
- Monitor key performance metrics, deliver high‑impact reports, and conduct in‑depth analyses for project management and field operations.
- Forecast labor, material procurement, inventory, and contractor scheduling to enhance cost‑effectiveness.
- Manage complex project escalations; act as points of contact for stakeholders and provide SAP, credit, and tax memo expertise.
**Required Skills**
- Financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in construction projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and SAP (R/3, SRM, BW).
- Project cost control, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to present financial results to all business levels.
- Site verification and vendor oversight.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or Construction Management.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in construction management, project management, financial analysis, accounting, scheduling, or estimating.
- Professional certification in cost control (AACE or equivalent) preferred.
- MBA, CPA, or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or Construction Management highly desirable.
