Job Description
Job Title: Materials Process Development Engineer (M/F) Role Summary: Lead the technical development of hermetic fiber‑optic feedthroughs for Cryonext (quantum computing) projects. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessment, and documentation across the product lifecycle while ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory standards. Expectations: - Deliver innovative process solutions within defined project milestones. - Maintain accuracy and integrity of technical data in the PLM system. - Communicate progress and technical findings to internal and external stakeholders, including patent authorship support. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in early‑stage concept development, evaluating and qualifying technical options under the guidance of a senior engineer. - Interpret technical specifications, verify that output data meets requirements, and update documentation accordingly. - Construct and update technical risk analyses, validation plans, and corrective action routes. - Conduct competitive intelligence (patents, technical literature, products) and contribute to patent drafting and sealed envelope submissions. - Coordinate cross‑functional design groups, manage sub‑design packages, and drive project execution at site, business unit, or group level. - Collaborate with internal and external technical experts to integrate new technologies and disseminate project knowledge across R&D work environments. Required Skills: - Strong analytical and problem‑solving aptitude. - Proficiency in technical documentation, PLM tools, and risk management frameworks. - Experience with optical fiber or related process technologies. - Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications. - Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English; patent writing familiarity. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, or related). - PhD preferred for specialized applications. - Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience in process development or similar domain.
